Garrad Hassan was formed in 1984 to meet the growing demand for independent consultancy services in the wind energy sector. Since then we have developed our solar, wave and tidal energy business streams.
In July 2009 GL and Garrad Hassan merged to form GL Garrad Hassan; although the name is new, the business has a rich heritage. As a consulting company, it has no equity stake in any device or project. This rule of operation is central to its philosophy which sets it apart from many other players and underlines its independence. Created by the integration of specialist companies it has become the world's largest renewable energy consultancy.
